New recruit has joined our proven IFA career path

We are pleased to announcer that a new recruit has joined our proven IFA career path.  Michael Lennon, who is joining the team at Innes Reid on a career path working towards becoming a Financial Adviser.

Michael applied to join Innes Reid specifically, as he wanted a more defined plan to become a Chartered Independent Financial Adviser (IFA), with a firm which encourages self-development and the achievement of qualifications.

Innes Reid boasts a team of highly trained and qualified Independent Financial Advisers who have supported clients with their financial planning, pensions and investments since 1999. Innes Reid also boasts Corporate Chartered Financial Planner status, a status only awarded to firms with a ‘commitment to developing and maintaining the knowledge and capability of their people’.

Mark Reidford, Managing Director and Founder of Innes Reid, said:

“Despite the current economic climate, Innes Reid is still a growing business and we are proud to be the employer of 26 staff, local to Chester and the surrounding areas.”

Michael Lennon previously worked for a wealth management firm and has also held positions in sales and business development.

“I have always been interested in business and even in my summer breaks at University I’d take on a sales role for a local company, going door to door”, said Michael.

“This gave me an excellent grounding in a customer facing role and was quite challenging, as you never knew how you would be received!

I achieved my degree in International Business at the University of Liverpool with modules in finance and economics. Afterwards I wasn’t sure of my career path, so I decided to learn about business through roles in accountancy, marketing and sales.

A friend who was a paraplanner suggested I look into becoming a Financial Adviser, as it suited my skill set and passion for working with customers directly. I managed to secure a role with a wealth management firm and began studying whilst working full time towards achieving my diploma.

I passed the RO1, RO2 and RO4 exams which cover regulations, ethics, investments and pensions and I am currently studying for RO3 Taxation, which I am due to take in November. Two more exams following this, which I plan to pass before April 2021, will give me a Diploma in Financial Planning.”

We wish Michael Lennon every success on his new journey here at Innes Reid and look forward to helping him achieve his goals.
